Middle Tennessee State University Athletics
Alumni Memorial Gym
In 2002, Middle Tennessee volleyball made its debut in the newly-renovated Alumni Memorial Gym. The facility – known to the Blue Raiders and their fans as “The AMG” – was once home to Blue Raider men's and women's basketball prior to the completion of Murphy Center, and is now exclusively the home of Blue Raider volleyball.
A new floor was installed in 2002, with a state-of-the-art volleyball scoreboard being added in 2003. In 2004, new head coach Matt Peck had floor seating installed to give fans an up close and personal feel to the volleyball experience.
The Blue Raiders have had a distinct home court advantage at AMG in its 12 years, particularly in the time since floor seats were installed. From 2006-10, the Blue Raiders went 64-12 (.842) at home, not losing more than three home matches in any of those five seasons.
The AMG has hosted three conference tournaments – The 2013 Conference USA Championship, along with the Sun Belt Championship in both 2005 and 2010. In the 2005 Sun Belt Championship, The Blue Raiders and rival Western Kentucky's match in the Sun Belt Championship finals was televised on ESPN+ with a school-record crowd of 1,028. It was the first time a Sun Belt finals match had been shown on ESPN.
