Middle Tennessee State University Athletics
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
| What is the Blue Raider Athletic Association? The BRAA is the official fundraising arm of Middle Tennessee State University Athletic Department, raising funds for student-athlete scholarships and operational expenses. Why is the BRAA important to MTSU Athletics? The donations made to the BRAA provide student-athletes the opportunity to attend a four-year university while participating in athletics. Many of the student-athletes receive not only athletic recognition but, academic recognition for their hard work in the classroom. After their tenure at MTSU, these student-athletes become pillars in the community and advocates for Middle Tennessee. Is my contribution tax deductible? As of January 1, 2018 if a donor’s gift is related to priority seating, it is no longer tax deductible per IRS regulation. However, all other gifts and support to the BRAA are tax deductible. Please consult your tax advisor regarding tax deductibility of your gift. What are the benefits associated with giving to the BRAA?
