Brandon Lawson joined the Blue Raider football staff in May 2014 and serves as the Director of Player Personnel. His primary responsibilities include player personnel, overseeing and managing recruiting events, developing marketing strategies for recruiting purposes, and managing the recruiting big board.
Lawson received his bachelor’s degree in logistics and international business from the University of Tennessee in the spring of 2013. During his time there, he moved up the ladder in UT’s recruiting department from student volunteer to ultimately being hired on staff as the football player personnel administrator in 2013. His duties on UT’s football staff included managing the recruiting database, developing and managing the prospect film database, executing recruiting events from the ground level, and managing the recruiting needs of the nine assistant coaches.
Prior to Lawson’s career with the UT football program, he served six years on active duty in the United States Marine Corps. The former Marine served at the Presidential Helicopter Squadron HMX-1 where his duties included flying on board Marine One Helicopter as the Marine One Crew Chief from 2007 through 2009. He was honorably discharged in April of 2010 and began his academic and athletics journey at the University of Tennessee that summer.
Brandon is a native of Knoxville, Tenn., and is married to the former Kimberly Martin.
