Former Blue Raider record-setting quarterback Brent Stockstill is in his third season on the Middle Tennessee staff and his second as the quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator. After playing for his father, Rick Stockstill, from 2015-18, he returned as a full-time member of his staff in January 2021.
COACHING HIGHLIGHTS:
At Middle Tennessee, quarterbacks/passing game coordinator (2022-Present)
• Took over his new coaching responsibilities in February 2022
• Recruiting Area: Middle Tennessee, Northwest Georgia, South Carolina, Northeast Florida
• Helped guide Chase Cunningham to 2022 Honorable Mention All-CUSA honors and the best statistical season of his career. Cunningham became just the second QB in school history to record multiple 400-yard passing games and became just the fourth signal-caller at MTSU to throw for 3,000 yards in a single-season.
At Middle Tennessee, wide receivers (2021)
• Date Hired: Jan. 9, 2021
• In 2021, Stockstill mentored four of the team’s top five receivers to career years in terms of receptions (Yusuf Ali, Jimmy Marshall (honorable mention all-conference), Jaylin Lane and DJ England-Chisolm)
• The 2021 unit accounted for 269 of the team’s 296 receptions and 27 of the 28 touchdown grabs
• Mentored the nation’s number one punt return in 2021 (Jaylin Lane)
At South Florida, quality control analyst (2020)
• Worked with the offensive staff on a daily basis
• Coached under offensive coordinator Charlie Weis
At Florida Atlantic, offensive player personnel assistant (2019)
• Coached under offensive coordinator Charlie Weis
• The Owls offense averaged 35.2 points per game to rank 16th nationally on their way to an 11-win season and a league championship
• FAU also won the Boca Raton Bowl over SMU

• Led Blue Raiders to four straight bowl games and a trip to the CUSA Championship Game
