Omar McLendon, a four-year letterman at defensive end for Middle Tennessee, is in his third year on Rick Stockstill’s staff entering the 2016 season. McLendon will once again work with the defense.
After working in 2013 with the strength and conditioning staff, McLendon returned to the field in 2014 where he had a productive career as a player on the defensive side of the ball.
McLendon played in 48 games, including 24 straight starts to end his career, was voted by his teammates as a permanent team captain, and was a part of two bowl teams during his career (2009 to 2012).
As a senior, McLendon earned all-conference honors on way to finishing with 34 tackles, 5.0 TFLs, two sacks and a team-best four hurries.
The Temple, Ga., product earned his degree from Middle Tennessee in 2013.
