Abe Spencer joined the Middle Tennessee Strength and Conditioning staff in January 2024 following two years at Austin Peay. Spencer in his second season with the Blue Raiders.
In his role at MTSU, Spencer devotes all his time to Blue Raider football and assisting Director of Strength and Conditioning, Jamie Blatnick.
Spencer came to MTSU after two years as a member of Austin Peay’s Sports Performance staff where he oversaw softball and baseball. He also assisted with the football program where they advanced to the 2023 playoffs and won two conference titles.
Prior to APSU, Spencer was at Oklahoma State where he assisted with the Cowboys football program working with student-athletes in small groups under the direction of Rob Glass. He also oversaw the strength and conditioning program for the Oklahoma State men's cheer team, which was part of the Oklahoma State squad that won the 2021-22 NCAA Advanced Large Coed Division 1A division.
A Stillwater, Oklahoma native, Spencer graduated from Oklahoma Christian University in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in sports management. During his time at OCU he was a pitcher and first baseman on the Eagles' baseball team. Spencer also interned with the OCU strength and conditioning staff as a senior.
Spencer is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), has a USAW Level 1 certification and is certified First Aid CPR and AED.
