Daryl Simpson, a member of the Middle Tennessee State Athletics Department since September of 2008, currently serves as the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Operations.
Simpson is responsible for managing all aspects of the department's comprehensive athletics compliance unit, including all education, monitoring and supervision of three full-time staff. Is the primary liaison for the Registrar’s, academics, financial aid, housing and Bursar’s Office. Simpson is also the Sport Supervisor for the Men’s and Women’s Track & Cross-Country program.
In addition to his Compliance duties, he serves as Football Game Day manager, oversees all aspects of event operations and is responsible for all facility improvements for existing facilities. Serves as the primary liaison to the Production Services, Parking, Police, Facilities and Concessions. Simpson returned to Middle Tennessee after serving as a Graduate Assistant in the Compliance office in 2004 and 2005. Before his return to Middle Tennessee, Simpson worked at the University of North Texas serving as the Assistant Compliance Director for one year before taking over as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance the following two years. At UNT, Simpson was responsible for managing all aspects of the department's comprehensive athletics compliance unit, including all education, monitoring and supervision of two full-time staff. In addition to his responsibilities with the Middle Tennessee athletic department, Simpson served as a chair of the NCAA Initial Eligibility Waiver Core-Course Subcommittee and is a member of the NAAC Legislation/Governance Committee. Simpson has also been involved with several local non-profits boards specifically Murfreesboro Young Professionals (MYP) Board of Directors and the Finance Committee for the United Way of Rutherford and Cannon County. A native of Seward, Alaska, Simpson graduated from Northern Arizona University with a bachelor’s in Hotel/Restaurant Management in 2002 and received a master’s from Middle Tennessee State University in Sports Management in 2005.
