Joe Ganz, a former Nebraska quarterback, is in his second season as a member of Derek Mason’s coaching staff. Ganz coaches the tight ends.
COACHING HIGHLIGHTS:
At Middle Tennessee, tight ends, 2024-present
• Date Hired: Jan. 22, 2024
• In 2024, he guided Holden Willis to a career season and first team all-league honors. Willis hauled in 53 passes for 871 yards and a team-best six touchdowns to earn All-American honors from Sports Illustrated, College Football News and HERO Sports.
At Northern Iowa, pass game coordinator/wide receivers, 2020-23
• In 2023, Sam Schnee was both UNI's and the conference's leading receiver with 1,041 total receiving yards and 94.64 per game as well as 18.26 yards per reception
• Schnee, a first team all-conference and second team all-American in 2023, finished seventh on UNI's all-time receiving yards list and was the 11th Panther to join the 2,000+ receiving yard club
At Youngstown State, quarterbacks, 2018-19
• In 2019 Ganz helped utilize multiple quarterbacks successfully for the Penguins to go 5-2 at home. Senior Nathan Mays had the best year of his career completing 91-of-149 passes for 1,287 yards and 13 touchdowns while sophomore Joe Craycraft completed 66-of-127 passes for 893 yards and eight scores
At Youngstown State, tight ends, 2016-17
• In 2017, he coached Kevin Rader to honorable-mention All-MVFC honors after hauling in a career-best 22 passes for 272 yards and two touchdowns
• In 2016, YSU advanced to the FCS National Championship game as his tight ends helped pave the way for two 1,000-yard rushers
