Johna Walker joined the Blue Raider athletic department as an Associate Athletic trainer in July 2024.
Walker comes to Murfreesboro after serving as an assistant athletic trainer at Presbyterian College, where she provided comprehensive health care to student-athletes across multiple sports, including women's basketball, which won the 2023-24 Big South Conference championship, men's basketball, golf, and football. Prior to her time in Clinton, She spent a year at Lexington Clinic Orthopedic and Sports Medicine, where she honed her skills in patient care and medical record management.
In addition to her professional roles, Walker has gained extensive clinical experience with various collegiate sports teams, including the University of Florida's women's basketball team and Eastern Kentucky University's women's soccer and basketball teams.
Her professional certifications include Dry Needling for Rehabilitation and Sports Performance, South Carolina Licensure, and BOC Certification. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and is certified in CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers.
Walker earned her Master of Science in Athletic Training from Eastern Kentucky University in 2021 and her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Morehead State University in 2019, where she was recognized on the Dean's List and awarded the Transfer Scholarship. She also holds an Associate in Science from Hazard Community and Technical College.
