Nathan Wallach serves as the Associate Athletic Director for Capital Projects, Broadcast Technology & Game Operations at Middle Tennessee State University, where he combines a passion for storytelling through sports with leadership in technology and facility development.
In this role, he provides executive oversight of $100M+ in capital projects as part of the Build Blue Campaign, guiding the design, budgeting, and integration of A/V systems, broadcast infrastructure, networking, and digital signage. His work ensures MTSU Athletics’ facilities not only meet compliance and competitive standards but also elevate the student-athlete experience and enhance fan engagement.
Wallach also oversees all broadcast operations and game-day production for the Blue Raiders’ 17 NCAA Division I sports, managing control rooms, digital displays, and $8M+ in broadcast technology. He leads a team of graduate assistants, part-time staff, and event personnel to deliver safe, seamless, and dynamic game operations. As the department’s primary liaison with broadcast partners, Daktronics, Van Wagner Sports Properties, and MTSU’s College of Media and Entertainment, he drives innovation in content creation, sponsorship activations, and student experiential learning.
A multi-time graduate of MTSU, Wallach has grown within Blue Raider Athletics for more than a decade, contributing both behind the lens and behind the scenes. He has been part of some of the program’s most memorable moments—men’s basketball’s upset of Michigan State in the 2016 NCAA Tournament, women’s basketball’s NCAA Tournament run in 2021, and football victories over Georgia Tech, Mizzou, and Syracuse. His career reflects both a technical expertise in broadcast and facility operations and a lifelong commitment to advancing the success and visibility of MTSU Athletics.
Prior to his promotion, Wallach served as the Senior Media Consultant for MT Athletics since April 2020, overseeing and producing variety of digital content for the Blue Raiders’ in the areas of creative video, photography, broadcast production and videoboard display. Wallach also led new technology acquisition for the athletic department, negotiating and fulfilling contracts for both technology procurement and services.
As part of his role, Wallach was the supervisor for Athletic Communications Department creative services team, helping mentor countless Blue Raiders in the art of creative video production and photography, while working as the primary creative content producer for MT Football, Men’s Basketball and Women’s Basketball as a member of the team’s travel party during various points of his time in Murfreesboro.
Wallach entered the Senior Media Consultant role after eight years as a Multimedia Specialist for the Department, a role he started in June 2012. Wallach served as director of a plethora of livestreaming and videoboard productions for the athletic department during this time, while also coordinating production crews, media requests and game management. During that time, Wallach was honored 2017 College Sports Media Awards for the Best Live Game Production and by the International Association of Business Communicators with the organization’s Best Video Award in 2016 and 2017.
Prior to going full-time with the athletic department, Wallach was a Video Production Intern in the Athletic Communications Department at Middle Tennessee. He started his Blue Raider career as the Video Coordinator for Blue Raider men’s basketball under Head Coach Kermit Davis during the 2009-10 season.
Wallach graduated from Middle Tennessee State in 2009 with a B.S. in Electronic Media Communications and in 2010 with an M.S. in Sport Management. A native of Nashville, Tenn., Wallach currently resides in Murfreesboro with his wife, Jen, and their dog, Stanley.
