Leigh Ann Brewton returned to Middle Tennessee Athletics in January 2022 as Director of Special Events. She is responsible for organizing, planning and executing special events for the Blue Raider Athletic Association and assists with premium seating service efforts.
She had previously spent four and a half years as a development assistant and later development coordinator for the BRAA from 2012-2017. In that role, Brewton managed game day activities in the Stadium Club, Sky Suites, the Silver Raider Reception Room and the Dewon Brazelton Baseball Alumni Suite. She also organized an Athletic Department service day at Greenhouse Ministries in Murfreesboro. Daily responsibilities included maintaining and administering the donor database as well as communicating with donors by phone and in person.
Prior to her return to Middle Tennessee, Brewton spent three years as Director of Corporate and Workforce Engagement at United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties and a year as an Investor Relations Coordinator at Special Kids Therapy and Nursing Center.
While at United Way, Brewton helped gain sponsorships for events from corporate partners and new businesses to help reach fundraising goals for different events that she helped plan. Brewton also managed accounts within a database, making sure data was accurate and helping ensure the United Way could increase both giving and support for its’ annual giving program.
During her year-long stint with the Special Kids Therapy and Nursing Center, Brewton prepared requests for meetings, tours, donations and sponsorships to investors and businesses. Brewton also was responsible for planning and executing the Special Kids MTSU Basketball night and coordinated the Letters to Santa initiative through Redstone Federal Credit Union.
Brewton earned a bachelor's degree in Child Development and Family Studies from Middle Tennessee in 2016. A native of Murfreesboro, she and her husband, Eric, met at MTSU and have a dog named Shooter.
