Murfreesboro, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee soccer team finishes its season-opening road trip Wednesday with a 5 p.m. match at UT-Martin against the Skyhawks. The Blue Raiders dropped a 1-0 decision to Southern Miss last Friday in the season-opener for both teams, with the Golden Eagles scoring on a penalty kick in the 75th minute. Sunday's match against Nicholls State was canceled due to weather. Second-year head coach Scott Ginn says his team needs to play more games to get a better feel for all the newcomers on the squad. "We need to play. This is a good trip for us because it's not very far and it gives us a chance to play against other competition," Ginn said. "Doing well against Martin would be big for us. We need to get on the positive side with a win." MT opens the home schedule this Saturday with a 1 p.m. match against Jacksonville State.
