Full Slate of Action This Weekend

The Blue Raider baseball team concludes fall practice with the annual Blue-White series Thursday through Saturday at Reese Smith Field. Action begins around 2:45 p.m. Thursday and Friday and around 11:45 a.m. Saturday, as the team will be split into two clubs to play the best-of-three series.
The Middle Tennessee soccer team opens Sun Belt Conference play Friday at 3 p.m. at Blue Raider Field, hosting Florida International. Coach Aston Rhoden's club enters the weekend 4-5-0 but 4-1-0 at home this year, including wins over Belmont, Louisiana-Monroe, Western Carolina and Birmingham Southern.
The Lady Raider softball teams hosts its annual fall tournament Friday through Sunday at Lady Raider Field. Middle Tennessee plays all three of its games on Saturday, with contests against Lipscomb (1 p.m.), Trevecca (3 p.m.) and Rend Lake (7 p.m.). Three games will be played Friday beginning at 4 p.m., and four will take place Sunday starting at 9 a.m.
The home weekend action concludes Saturday at 6 p.m. with the Blue Raider football team hosting Temple, the first home game for the squad since the August 28 opener against Florida Atlantic. The Athletic Department will be offering a Family Fun 4 Pak, which will include four general admission tickets, four hot dogs, and four cokes for only $40. To take advantage of the Family Fun 4 Pak contact the ticket office by Thursday of game week at 1-888-YES-MTSU.
The theme of the game is "Faith and Family Day" and it all gets started at 3:30 p.m. with a free concert in the Bell Street Parking Lot. "By the Tree with Jessie Daniels and Echoes Flow" will provide music for the concert. Other football pre-game festivities include the U.S. Army Rock Climbing Wall in "The Loop"; a live remote from 102.5 The Buzz; free face painting and inflatables for the kids; tailgating; and Curb Record Artist Natalie Grant, who will perform the National Anthem just prior to kickoff.
The Applebee's Big Blue Kickoff Show will be broadcast live from "The Loop" beginning at 4:30 PM. Neil Price and Duane Hickey will host the show. At halftime, Middle Tennessee will have its 22nd annual Salute to Veterans, along with music by the Band of Blue.
