37 student-athletes into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee's athletic department inducted 37 student-athletes into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society Monday night.
There were 19 male and 18 female student-athletes inducted into the Blue Raider's 21st class. Baseball had eight inductees followed by women's track with seven, football with six, women's golf, softball, and women's tennis with three each. Men's tennis and men's track had two each while men's basketball, women's basketball, and soccer had one each.
Chi Alpha Sigma is a non-profit organization established to recognize college students who earn a varsity letter in at least one sport while maintaining a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA throughout their junior and senior years. The goal of the organization is to recognize outstanding academic achievement by intercollegiate athletes.
Middle Tennessee has now inducted a total of 393 student-athletes into the society after just 20 years of eligibility. In 2005, the first year Blue Raider student-athletes could be inducted, a total of 26 were recognized. Middle Tennessee placed 10 student-athletes into the society in 2006, 15 more in 2007, 10 in 2008, nine in 2009, 16 in 2010, 13 in 2011, four in 2012, 12 in 2013, 14 in 2014, seven in 2015, 26 in 2016, 24 in 2018, 28 in 2019, 61 in 2021,18 in 2022, 39 in 2023, 35 in 2025, and 37 in 2026. There was not a class in 2017, 2020 or 2024.
