Lady Raiders Fall to UAB 5-2

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Middle Tennessee women's tennis fell to UAB (11-5) 5-2 on Sunday.
Middle Tennessee dropped the doubles point, 2-1, and then lost four of the six singles matches in the defeat. The loss puts Lady Raiders at 10-7 on the season.
The Lady Raider's Jennifer Klaschka and Ann-Kristin Siljestrom won the No. 1 doubles match over Gulsah Esen and Ornischa Maier-Knapp 8-5. UAB then took the next two matches as Julia von Samson and Annemieke Elsholz defeated Middle Tennessee's Anna Maria Cibils and Emily Vest 8-2. Samrin Tanzeem and Jana Wilde topped the Lady Raider's Jacqui Williams and Claudia Szabo, 8-6, on court No. 3.
In singles play, Middle Tennessee won the points at No. 1 and No. 5. Klaschka knocked off Esen, 6-2, 6-2 and Siljestrom out lasted Elsholz, 6-4, 7-6.
Middle Tennessee returns home on Thursday April 7 to host Murray State at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center. Match time is set for 2 p.m.
