Services for former football standout, Oldham, Wednesday

Oldham was the 23rd member inducted into the Blue Raider Hall of Fame in 1983 following a highly-successful 10-year NFL career. Oldham, who played for the Blue Raiders from 1969-72, was an All-Ohio Valley Conference selection as a defensive back in each of his four seasons at Middle Tennessee. He was runner up to Jim Youngblood (former Tennessee Tech Golden Eagle and Los Angeles Ram) for OVC Defensive Player of the Year as a senior in 1972.
Oldham still holds the OVC record for longest interception return (100 yards vs. UT-Chattanooga, 1980). He led the Blue Raiders in interceptions in 1971 and 1972 and his 13 career interceptions are tied for third all-time with Don Griffin (1982-85).
Oldham played for the Baltimore Colts from 1973-78 until he was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he was a member of the "Steel Curtain Defense" for the 1978 Super Bowl champions. Oldham also played for the New York Giants in 1979 and finished his 10-year NFL career playing for the Detroit Lions for three seasons (1980-82). Oldham had 14 career interceptions in the NFL, two of which he returned for touchdowns.
