MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee State University and Blue Raider athletics is featured on the 2006-07 Murfreesboro edition of The Real Yellow Pages from BellSouth. The University and BellSouth held a press conference Wednesday morning at the Kennon Sports Hall of Fame unveiling this year's phone book that will be distributed in most of Rutherford County as well as Bedford County.
Delivery begins this month and will continue for approximately the next four weeks. The area's leading yellow pages directory from BellSouth estimates delivery of approximately 127,000 print copies over the next year.
University President Sidney McPhee, Director of Athletics Chris Massaro and BellSouth's Lanie Johnson were part of the press conference, with elected officials Jim Tracy (State Senator), John Hood (State Representative), Kent Coleman (State Representative) and Ernest Burgess (County Mayor) in attendance.
"We are excited that Middle Tennessee State University and Blue Raider athletics will be represented on the 2006-07 edition of The Real Yellow Pages. It is a great opportunity to showcase the campus for so many residents and businesses to see over the next year," said Johnson, manager of Corporate & External Affairs for BellSouth in Tennessee.
"Middle Tennessee State University is honored to be featured on BellSouth's Yellow Pages directory. We look forward to our partnership with The Real Yellow Pages," said Massaro.
The front section of the directory includes the award-winning Community Information Pages with information on Middle Tennessee State University, as well as on local schools and government offices, public transportation, area sports, area museums and attractions, weather and emergency planning, and other important local information.
"Just as consumers' preferences for how they locate local business information has changed, so have BellSouth's tools for finding information. From our print directories to the Internet, consumers have a choice of how they 'let their fingers do the walking' when searching The Real Yellow pages," said Johnson.
The Real Yellow Pages from BellSouth also announced this week the kick-off of its Throw the Book at Us 2006 recycling project that will take place from September 15 through October 18 partnering with Recycle Rutherford, a volunteer organization dedicated to promoting recycling in Rutherford County.
"Recycle Rutherford is so excited to be teaming up with The Real Yellow Pages from BellSouth to help educate and promote recycling in Murfreesboro as well as all surrounding areas," said Ellen Donovan, coordinator of the Recycle Rutherford project.
YELLOWPAGES.COM" from BellSouth is a leading online yellow pages. With more than one billion searches expected in 2006, the YELLOWPAGES.COM network, including Yahoo! Yellow Pages, AOL Yellow Pages and Switchboard.com, is another way BellSouth connects savvy business people to consumers looking to make a purchase. Information is available at www.YELLOWPAGES.COM. In addition to the standard size and Internet directory, The Real Yellow Pages Murfreesboro edition will be available cover-to-cover on CD-ROM and on the Internet at www.realpageslive.com.
