Inman to be inducted into Ohio Valley Conference Hall of Fame

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - Former Middle Tennessee head women's basketball coach Larry Joe Inman will join Joey Haines, a former Southeast Missouri State and Austin Peay head track coach, as 2009 inductees into the Ohio Valley Conference Hall of Fame it was announced by the OVC Thursday.
Inman led the Blue Raider program from 1978-79 to 1985-86, compiling a 161-73 (.688) record for the second-most wins of any head coach in school history. His teams won the Ohio Valley title in 1979-80, 1982-83, 1983-84, 1984-85 and 1985-86, earning the first four NCAA Tournament berths in school annals over his last four seasons. He was selected as the league's coach of the year following the 1979-80, 1982-83 and 1984-85 seasons.
He went on to continue coaching at Eastern Kentucky, and by the time he retired at the end of the 2007-08 campaign, Inman amassed the most victories (480) in OVC history.
Inman joins six other Hall of Fame members, out of the 65 total, who have associations with Middle Tennessee. Other Blue Raiders include Dr. Quill Cope, President (class of 1978); Charles "Bubber" Murphy, Coach and Administrator (class of 1982); Jimmy Earle, Coach (class of 1989); Dr. Sam Ingram, President (class of 1990); Dr. E.K. Patty, Coach (class of 1993); and John Stanford, Coach and Administrator (class of 1997).
The pair will be officially inducted May 29 during the OVC Honors Luncheon May 29 at the Sommet Center in downtown Nashville.
