Volleyball receiving votes in AVCA poll

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - After a weekend that featured an upset of then 24th-ranked Long Beach State, the Middle Tennessee volleyball team received 10 votes in the AVCA Top 25 poll on Monday.
"I think our victory over one of the most storied volleyball programs in the country let people know we have a nice team this year," said head coach Matt Peck. "It's a great accomplishment, but we realize we have a long way to go."
The Blue Raiders (10-4), winners of their last seven matches, were the only Sun Belt team to receive votes.
Long Beach State, who knocked off then No. 14 Colorado State a night before falling to Middle Tennessee, improved one spot to No. 23.
The Blue Raiders will hit the road for action this weeked, taking on UALR on Friday at 7 p.m. and Arkansas State on Sunday at 1 p.m.
