MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - After a weekend that featured sweeps of both UALR and Arkansas State on the road, the Middle Tennessee volleyball team received 22 votes in the AVCA Top 25 poll on Monday.
"It's always nice to be recognized by your peers," said head coach Matt Peck. "We improved from last week, which was great. However, we some big tests coming up against FIU, who has won 20 consecutive conference matches, and a much-improved FAU team. We have our work cut out for us, and our improvement is dependent on us."
The Blue Raiders (12-4), winners of their last nine matches, were one of just two Sun Belt teams to earn votes. Western Kentucky was ranked 39th, receiving two votes.
The Blue Raiders will begin a three match home stretch this weekend, beginning with a 2009 Sun Belt Championship rematch vs. FIU on Friday evening at 7 p.m. Middle Tennessee will also play host to FAU on Saturday at 7 p.m.
