NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee junior Carla Nava captured her fourth-straight singles win, but the Blue Raiders were unable to mount any other scoring in dropping a 6-1 decision to Denver Friday afternoon at the Nashboro Village Indoor Facility in Nashville, Tenn. The match was scheduled to start outdoors, but due to inclement weather, was forced indoors. "We did not have good focus once we moved indoors," head coach Melissa Schaub said. "Conditions were not ideal all day, but we have to learn to adapt and be prepared for anything. Now our attention turns to Sunday." Nava picked up the lone Middle Tennessee (5-8) point with a 7-6, 6-4 triumph over the Pioneers' Gabriella Boboc at the No. 3 singles position. She also paired with classmate Alex Dachos for a victory at No. 3 doubles, as the pair handed Emma Isberg and Steffi Rath an 8-5 setback after the point had already been awarded to Denver (5-10). The Pioneers clinched the doubles point with a hard-fought, 9-8 tiebreaking win at the No. 2 slot, as Natalie Dunn and Caroline Schnell slipped past Lisa Maas and Yuiri Nomoto. The Blue Raiders will look to regroup at 10 a.m. Sunday when they play host to South Alabama at the on-campus Buck Bouldin Tennis Center. The match has been moved ahead three hours to accommodate the Jaguars' travel plans back to Mobile. Denver 6, Middle Tennessee 1
