MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The disappointment of not making a NFL roster was short-lived for Middle Tennessee's Chris McCoy. The Villa Rica, Ga., product was picked up on the waiver wire by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
McCoy had an impressive preseason with the Philadelphia Eagles, snatching six tackles with 3.5 sacks in four games. The 6-foot-4 linebacker is expected to play the Leo position and will see time on special teams. Prior to his arrival in Philadelphia, McCoy has spent time in Seattle, Houston and Pittsburgh.
McCoy joins four other Blue Raiders in making a 53-man roster. Benny Cunningham (St. Louis), Jamari Lattimore (Green Bay), Phillip Tanner (Dallas) and Erik Walden (Indianapolis) also made their teams' respective squads.
The Jaguars open the 2013 regular season this Sunday, Sept. 8 by hosting the Kansas City Chiefs in a Noon CT kickoff.
