Women's Tennis shuts down TSU, 7-0

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee women's tennis picked up its second shutout of the year with a 7-0 victory over Tennessee State at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Complex on Friday.
The Blue Raiders (5-2) won both doubles contests and won each of the singles matches. One doubles and one singles point were forfeited due to only five student-athletes from TSU (0-1) competing in the match.
In doubles play, Middle Tennessee's Tiffany William/Jesse Grace won 8-1 over Jade Daniels/Trinity Randolph. At the No. 2 spot, Nayara Moraes and Irina Constantinide knocked off Victoria Haynes and Attallah Eiland, 8-0. MT won the third doubles court by forfeit.
MT improved to 2-0 in the match, as Sarah Sediri won by forfeit at Court No. 6. Senior Flavia Nagayama claimed a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Eiland at the fourth spot. Grace won 6-1, 6-0 over Randolph to give the Raiders a 3-0 edge in the match. Constantinide claimed the match point with a 6-0, 6-1 defeat of Presley at Court No. 5.
Moraes won her sixth match this season, knocking off Haynes, 6-1, 6-0. William improved to a perfect 7-0 with a 6-0, 6-1 decision against TSU's top player Daniels.
Middle Tennessee returns to action tomorrow at Noon against Louisiana Tech. The match will be played at a neutral site in Birmingham, Ala. Live stats will be available at GoBlueRaiders.com.
