MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Four Middle Tennessee track athletes will travel to the campus of Notre Dame to take on the field at the Alex Wilson Invitational Saturday.
The duo of Vincent Okot and Hillary Rono will be joined by newcomers Ifoik Umoh and Loveth Odia. Okot has led Middle Tennessee in the triple jump this year, winning three triple jump competitions. The Gulu, Uganda native jumped a personal-best 15.65-meters at the Vanderbilt Invitational this season, which ranks 27th in the NCAA.
Rono is slated to compete in the mile run and will be in the second section Saturday. The sophomore raced to his first victory in the mile at last week's Samford Invitational, finishing in 4:07.60. He notched a career-best 4:07.37 at the Vanderbilt Invitational.
Ifoik Umoh and Loveth Odia have only competed at the Samford Invite, with Umoh competing in the 200 and 400 meter races. Odia raced in the 400 and was a member of the 4x400-meter relay team, which finished third in 3:49.55.
