Blue Raiders Beat Charlotte 4-1 For Sixth Straight Win
NASHVILLE – Shelley Godwin's Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders women's tennis program won its sixth match in a row and kept alive an undefeated home record of 7-0 in the process against Charlotte Friday.
The No. 65-ranked Blue Raiders improved to 14-3 on the season with a 4-1 win over Charlotte at the Nashboro Village Athletic Club.
All three doubles matches went quickly and in dominant fashion for MT. Brittany Huxley and Nayara Moraes got the match started off on the right foot, winning 6-2 at the No. 2 spot.
The matches at No. 1 and No. 3 were similar in that both teams traded leads back and forth until the Blue Raiders took a 3-2 lead in both matches and never looked back. Giulia Squadrin and Jesse Grace finished with a score of 6-2 at No. 3, followed by Tiffany William and Darya Shulzhanok's 6-2 victory at No. 1.
