Blue Raiders Beat Bison 6-1

MT picks up another win in men's tennis
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee improved to 7-4 on the year with a 6-1 victory over the Lipscomb Bison on Wednesday afternoon at Nashboro Athletic Club.
The Blue Raiders got off to a shaky start after Ettore Zito and Victor Hoang fell at the No. 1 doubles spot 8-5 and Robin Riethmueller and Miguel Negre Fernandez dropped the No. 3 doubles match 8-7 to give Lipscomb the doubles point.
Yannick Born and Gian Issa picked up the doubles win at the No. 2 position 8-3.
MT would bounce back with a message as the team won all of the singles matches with ease.
Zito finished up singles play first with a 6-1, 6-2 straight set victory at the No. 1 spot against the Bison's Rob Mitcell.
Following in Zito's steps, Issa picked up the Blue Raiders second point in the match with a 6-2, 6-1 straight set win at the No. 4 over Alex Pavel.
Dima Zymantovich did not let up as he grabbed a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 2, while Hoang followed that with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 win at No. 3 to clinch the match for the Blue Raiders and put the team up 4-1.
Born recorded a 6-2, 6-2 straight set win against Daniel Hernandez, while Reithmueller closed the match with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over John Tougher.
Middle Tennessee will return to action on Friday with a strong opponent coming to town in No. 15 TCU. The Horned Frogs feature three ranked singles players and three ranked doubles pairs. The match is slated to start at 2 p.m.
