William Delivers in Clutch

MT Rolls to Fifth-Straight Win
CHARLESTON, S.C. – Tiffany William came through in the clutch.
With the match hanging in the balance, the Middle Tennessee senior delivered a 6-3, 7-6 (5-7) win to clinch the Blue Raiders' 4-3 win at College of Charleston Monday.
The No. 65-ranked Blue Raiders (13-3) won their fifth straight and 10th in 11 matches.
William, Jesse Grace and Nayara Moraes each won singles matches after Middle Tennessee had secured the crucial doubles point.
Giulia Squadrin and Jesse Grace teamed to dispose of Grace Baker and Sara Jane Jones, 8-1, at No. 3 doubles. Brittany Huxley and Moraes defeated Mara Argyrious and Samantha Maddox, 6-4, to provide Middle Tennessee the doubles point and a 1-0 advantage.
Moraes continued her winning ways with a 6-3, 6-3 triumph against Helena Nyikos to give Middle Tennessee a 2-0 edge. Moraes improved to 13-0 on the season and notched her 79th career victory.
Grace provided Middle Tennessee with a 3-0 lead after she turned back Mara Argyiou, 6-2, 6-2; however, the match would be anything but easy for the Blue Raiders.
College of Charleston came back with three straight wins at No. 4, 5 and 2 singles to even the match and set the stage for William who was still playing in an intense match at No. 1 singles.
The All- C-USA performer demonstrated her poise and solid play in a 6-3, 7-6 (5-7) hard-fought win to seal the fifth straight victory.
