MT closes weekend with C-USA match at Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — After a tough setback to start the weekend, Middle Tennessee seeks to pick up conference momentum against Charlotte Sunday afternoon.
Sunday's match is set for a 12 p.m. CT start and will be broadcast on Conference USA's streaming site at CUSA.TV.
In their last outing, the Blue Raiders dropped a hard-fought match against UTSA in AMG Friday night. Regan Coughlin led Middle Tennessee with 10 kills and added five blocks.
Junior Jacqueline Lux tallied 23 assists Friday night, including her 800th of her career. Lux also recorded five digs and sits just 33 digs away from a career 1,000.
Charlotte (7-14, 1-5) picked up its first conference win of the season during its last time out after a three-set sweep against FIU Friday. The 49ers hit a season-best .284, while Janell Sparks ignited the offense with 13 kills and a trio of aces.
Sparks leads the team with 206 kills and averages 2.78 kills per set. Shelby Green ranks fifth in the conference with a 4.19 digs per set average.
Following the weekend finale, Middle Tennessee returns to AMG for a four-game homestand beginning with Austin Peay on Wednesday. The midweek in-state showdown is slated for a 7 p.m. first serve.
