MURFREESBORO, Tenn.—Head Coach Jim McGuire and staff continue to pile up top-level recruits in the signing period, this time adding Buddy Fultz as the eighth signee for the Blue Raiders.

Fultz is the 36th ranked middle infielder in Georgia, and the 212th prospect in Georgia. The middle infielder was selected to the 2016 Perfect Game Top Prospect Team at the Perfect Game Southeastern Top Prospect Showcase. Fultz hit .300, along with a .970 fielding percentage as a junior for Johns Creek. His father, Frank, played baseball for Triton College and Texas Wesleyan College.
McGuire on Fultz: "He's a scrappy middle infielder that can also play third base. He's a solid defender and can help us in a lot of different ways."
McGuire raved about this signing class being one of the top classes ever put together at Middle Tennessee.
"I'm very happy with this recruiting class," said McGuire. "There's a good mix of high school and junior college guys that we feel like they can help us right away. We wanted to get more physical and we feel like we accomplished that. We still have a little more work to do in the spring to add to this class, but overall I'm very excited about this group."
This recruiting class is one of the best in large part due to the new change in coaching staff. During the offseason, McGuire hired the 2016 C-USA Assistant Coach of the Year in Tim Donnelly from Marshall. Donnelly serves as the recruiting coordinator and hitting coach, and has had an immediate impact on the program.
Assistant Coach JP Davis, has also played a major role bringing in recruits. Davis spent the majority of the summer and fall on the road, while bringing in some of the country's top talent to Murfreesboro.
Another important move this offseason was promoting last year's Director of Operations, Robbie Britt, to Volunteer Assistant Coach, while still retaining his duties from last year. Britt has been a vital part in the on-campus recruiting process for the Blue Raiders.
"It was a great job by Tim Donnelly, JP Davis and Robbie Britt, in putting this class together." McGuire stated. "Their hard work definitely paid off."
