Raiders to face ranked opponent

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – After dropping two matches against tough competition last weekend, Middle Tennessee men's tennis is set for a showdown with No. 52 East Tennessee State on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
The Blue Raiders will look to improve on their 3-1 record on the road and 3-4 mark against nationally ranked opponents.
East Tennessee State enters play on Wednesday with a record of 11-5 overall, with all five losses coming to ranked foes. Last week, the Buccaneers earned a 4-1 victory over No. 63 UNC-Wilmington.
David Biosca heads up the singles lineup for the Buccaneers. He's 12-4 at the top singles spot so far this season and has won nine of his last 10 matches.
Robert Herrera has been dominant from the middle of the lineup for ETSU this season. The sophomore is 14-2 overall and is riding an eight-match win streak in singles play. Herrera and doubles partner Diego Nunez are 6-0 in doubles play this season.
After Wednesday's matchup with East Tennessee State, the Blue Raiders will have only three matches left in the regular season, including Senior Day on April 12 against Austin Peay at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center.
