Two records fall in Georgia

Nyamadi Third, Dadzie Fifth
ATHENS, Ga. – On the final day of the Bulldog Decathlon/Heptathlon, two Middle Tennessee records were broken as Atsu Nyamadi placed third in the decathlon, while Elizabeth Dadzie finished fifth in the heptathlon at Spec Towns Track.
Nyamadi, who held the previous-best point total in the decathlon, set a new Middle Tennessee record with his career-best 7,800 points. Dadzie scored 5,475 points in the heptathlon, breaking the 4,774 points set by Jerkita McClorin in 2003.
Nyamadi earned his best success of the day in the javelin, placing first with a throw of 64.07 meters (210-02), while in the pole vault he finished 16th after clearing 3.75 meters (12-3.5).
In the discus, the Ghana native used a throw of 45.35 meters (148-9) for a third-place finish and 774 points. Nyamadi also placed fourth in the 110-meter hurdles after finishing in 14.63 seconds (895), while in the final event, the senior finished fifth in the 1,500 meter (4:38.48).
For the final three events in the heptathlon, Dadzie finished fifth or better in each event. Dadzie's best events were the 800 meter and the long jump, where the junior placed third in each event.
In the long jump, Dadzie leaped 6.21 meters (20-4.5), adding 915 points to her totals, while in the 800 she finished third after completing the race in 2:20.11 (822).
In the javelin, the Ghana native finished fifth with a throw of 34.95 meters (114-08) and 571 points.
Middle Tennessee continues competition at the Tiger Track Classic in Auburn, Alabama.
