MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee is back home to take on Tennessee Tech Tuesday night at 6 p.m. at Reese Smith Jr. Field.
Tuesday's game will account for the 121st time the two programs have met. The Blue Raiders put on an offensive showcase in Cookeville two weeks ago, winning 18-7. MT leads the overall series 85-34-1.
The MT lineup continues to be a force with six of the nine starters batting .295 or better. The Blue Raiders rank 20th in the nation with 514 hits (2nd in C-USA) on the season and 39th in the country with 94 doubles.
Slugger Aaron Aucker continues to impress this season, leading the team with a .384 batting average, nine home runs, and a .704 slugging percentage (2nd in C-USA).
Several Blue Raiders rank atop the conference in different offensive categories. Senior shortstop Riley Delgado is 6th with 68 hits, second baseman Ryan Kemp is 4thin slugging percentage at .656 and Austin Dennis ranks T-3rd in stolen bases (13) and 7th in RBI (45).
Middle Tennessee has been solid defensively as well, ranking 65th in the country with a .974 fielding percentage.
Freshman RHP Grant Williams will make his eighth straight mid-week start Tuesday night.
Tennessee Tech will have a quick turnaround, as they are finishing its series against Belmont today at 1 p.m. TTU has dominated all year, already winning two games against Belmont and holding a 20-3 record in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Tech is an offensive juggernaut with eight of its nine starters hitting .300 or better. TTU ranks second in the nation in home runs and fourth in hits.
