MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Still in search of their first win of the 2017 season, the Middle Tennessee soccer team hosts the University of Illinois-Chicago on Sunday, Sept. 10. The game is set for 2 p.m. at Dean A. Hayes Stadium.
This is the first time the Blue Raiders and Flames have met. In fact, the UIC soccer program is only in its fourth year of existence and Sunday's game will be the first time the Flames have gone up against a Conference USA opponent.
UIC enters the weekend by first playing Belmont before making their way to Murfreesboro. The Flames are 2-4 on the year with the two wins coming in their last two games against Chicago State (4-0) and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville (1-0).
Seven different players for UIC have recorded a goal through the first six games with Olivia Everin and Morgan Carey also picking up assists. Annie DiCanio has started the last two games in goal for the Flames, picking up two shutout victories while making seven saves.
Having scored just one goal in the last two weekends, the Raiders are looking to reignite their offensive spark. Peyton DePriest continues to lead the team in goals (2), shots (11), shots on goal (8) and is tied for a team lead in assists (1). Charlotte Van Ishoven and Elizabeth Watts have also notched a goal this season.
In goal, Sydney Chalcraft recorded a season-high six saves in net last contest to bring her season total up to 19 on the year.
The game will be live streamed on C-USA TV.
