Stockstill receives 'Breaking the Silence' award

CHARLOTTE, NC – Middle Tennessee head football coach Rick Stockstill was honored Monday with a special award at the American Football Coaches Association 2018 Convention.
Stockstill was awarded The Jason Foundation, Inc.'s Grant Teaff "Breaking the Silence" Award, given annually to an AFCA member coach or organization who has helped "break the silence" and build community awareness for suicide prevention.
The 12-year Middle Tennessee head coach has been an ambassador for The Jason Foundation, Inc. since 2006. The nonprofit organization, based in Hendersonville, Tennessee, is dedicated to the prevention of youth suicide by providing educational and awareness programs.
Alabama's Nick Saban was the 2017 recipient of the Grant Teaff "Breaking the Silence" Award.
