Two Middle Tennessee soccer players have been recognized by TopDrawerSoccer.com as midseason players to watch. Hannah Tillett was ranked #36 in the freshmen top 100 while Peyton DePreist was listed at #96 in the national top 100.
"I am happy for both players," said Head Coach Aston Rhoden. "Both work extremely hard at their game and are deserving of this recognition"
Tillett has made a huge impact in her first year as a Blue Raider. She currently leads Conference USA in points, goals, and is second in assists. The Huntington, Indiana native ranks in the NCAA top 10 in points and has helped MT establish one of the top scoring offenses in the country.
"Hannah's performances have been strong and consistent this season," said Rhoden. "She gets better with each game and continues to impress as a freshman."
After being named the C-USA Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, Peyton DePriest has had to battle through some injuries this season. Once she got healthy, she quickly showed how she earned that recognition. The sophomore leads the conference in shots per game, goals per game, and points per game and has had several memorable performances, including a hat trick at UTEP.
"Peyton picked up where she left off last year despite missing the first 5-6 games of the season," said Rhoden. "Her goals have been timely for us and she is having a strong season"
The Blue Raiders will host Southern Miss on Friday, October 19 at Dean A. Hayes Track and Soccer Stadium with kickoff set for 7pm.
