Long Leads Raiders in Opening Round of Evans Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Middle Tennessee rounded out their first round of the weekend on Friday at 7-over par (295) and tied for third place in the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational at University Club of Kentucky.
Senior Hanley Long had the top score for the Blue Raiders as she finished 2-under 70 to land in a tie for 3rd individually through the first 18 holes. Despite a rough start, Sophomore Caroline Caudill recovered with two birdies on the back 9 to finish 1-over 73 and tied for 16th individually.
The Blue Raiders return to the course tomorrow looking to chase the two teams ahead of them. MT will be paired with Notre Dame and Kentucky, who the Raiders trail by four and 15 strokes respectively. Kailey Collier will lead the way on Saturday starting at 9:12am CT with the other five Blue Raiders teeing off at 9:30am.
