Middle Tennessee Honors Trio of Seniors of Sunday
The Blue Raiders are set to honor Regan Coughlin, Vonnie Covington and Bailey Mason on Sunday for their senior sendoff.
The seniors have played in combined 113 matches for Middle Tennessee throughout their time as Blue Raiders. Covington is a four-year letter winner for the Blue Raiders after taking a redshirt season her freshman year in 2014. The five-foot-nine middle blocker has recorded 385 kills in four-season with the Blue Raiders while posting 196 blocks in her career.
Likewise, Coughlin has been a key offensive player for the Blue Raider in her three seasons at Middle Tennessee, recording 557 kills while inking a career-best 20 kills in a match this season at Tennessee State. Likewise, the Bloomington, Ill. native is a key defender for the team, recording 523 digs throughout her three seasons as a Blue Raider.
Finally, Mason has been a catalyst this season for the Blue Raider offense. The Forsyth, Ill. product has earned a career-best this season in almost every category. Mason has recorded 491 kills in her three-year tenure while adding 64 service aces for the team.
Last Time in the AMG
Last time in the Alumni Memorial Gym, the Blue Raiders (7-17, 2-8) inked back-to-back sweeps over UAB and UTEP, earning their first conference wins of the season. Similarly, after her stellar performance in both matches, Mason earned Conference USA Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career.
Blue Raiders Drop Match in Birmingham
Last time out, Middle Tennessee fell in straight-sets to the Blazers in the Bartow Arena on Sunday, Oct. 28. Despite sweeping UAB the weekend before, the Blue Raiders were unable to repeat their success at home on the road.
