MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Blue Raiders improved to 2-0 with a 32-point Education Day win against Milligan Friday and return to action Monday as they battle in-state rival Belmont at the Curb Event Center.
Junior guard Antonio Green was again the leading scorer Friday with 24 points while Reggie Scurry and Karl Gamble each secured double-doubles in the 100-point outing.
Donovan Sims added his second consecutive double-digit outing with 11 points while shooting 50% from beyond the arc. The Blue Raiders continued their hot shooting as a team as well, converting 51.9% of their attempts from the floor.
MT also showed some depth on Friday as well after a summer mass roster changes with 36 bench points, including 16 points from Gamble who was the team's second leading scorer in the contest.
The Bruins won their first and only game of the season on Saturday night at home against Illinois State.
Five players finished in double figures for the Bruins and freshman Grayson Murphy played well in his Belmont debut, finishing with 13 points and 10 assists.
Top returner Dylan Windler led the team in minutes with 36 and scored 20 points while Caleb Hollander led his squad in the 100-point outburst with 21 of his own.
Monday's contest is set to tip at 7:00 p.m. in Nashville as the Blue Raiders hope to extend their 21-16 advantage in the all-time series.
