Match-up: Middle Tennessee (3-1) vs. Virginia (3-0)
Location: Paradise Island, Bahamas | Imperial Arena (3,500)
PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas - The Blue Raiders overcame a second-half comeback to down Charleston Southern on Friday night and are now set to open their time in the Bahamas with No. 4 ranked Virginia.
MT led by 20 at the half last time out, but had to withstand a strong fight from CSU in the second half to win 76-73. Antonio Green and Reggie Scurry finished with double-digit points for the fourth time in as many games this season. Green is averaging 22.3 points a game and has scored 20 in three of the four games this season.
During their trip to the Bahamas, the Blue Raiders will face Virginia ahead of two more games. The Cavaliers, currently 3-0 on the year, remained the fourth ranked team in the country in the latest AP poll and are 3-0 on.
Depending on the first round results, MT will play either Butler or Dayton on Thanksgiving day before their final game in the Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis on Friday against Florida, Oklahoma, Stanford or Wisconsin.
"This is a great location for a tournament, one of the premier tournaments in all of college basketball," Head Coach Nick McDevitt said. "I want our players to enjoy it...but at the same time we need to approach this as a business trip as well. We're playing some elite teams down here but we want to compete, see our team improve over the next three or four days and prepare for the rest of the season as well."
