MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Lady Raiders host Georgia State in the Murphy Center on Thursday, November 29th at 11:00 a.m. for their annual Education Day game.
Middle Tennessee's Education Day game for the Murfreesboro City schools is the largest such event of its kind nationally. The Lady Raiders hold the top-game single attendance and average attendance for the event countrywide.
Tale of the Tape: Middle Tennessee and Georgia State
Thursday's contest marks the seventh meeting between the two programs with the Lady Raiders leading the all-time series over Georgia state, 6-0.
The last meeting between the two teams dates back to 2005, as Middle Tennessee clinched a 69-51 victory over Georgia State in the Murphy Center.
Scouting Georgia State
The Panthers enter the afternoon contest on Thursday with a 3-1 record, claiming two of its wins this season over Conference USA opponents. Georgia State notched wins over Florida Atlantic (75-59) and FIU (67-61) before falling to Rice in Houston, Texas last weekend (49-66).
Redshirt-sophomore Jada Lewis leads the Panthers scoring efforts, claiming 68 points in the team's first four outings to average 17.0 points per contest. Likewise, the 5-foot-8 guard is 27-of-63 from the field, maintaining a .429 hitting percentage.
On the defensive end, graduate player Walnatia Wright averages 12.3 rebounds per game, grabbing 37 boards in three games this season.
Lady Raiders claim UNLV Lady Rebel Roundup Title
The Blue Raiders return to the Murphy Center after claiming back-to-back games in Las Vegas, earning the champion title at the UNLV Lady Rebel Roundup.
In the championship game, freshman Taylor Sutton led the teams scoring efforts, claiming a career-best 22 points in the contest. Sutton recorded 8-of-16 from the field while picking up three assists and two rebounds over the Lady Rebels.
Meanwhile, senior Jess Louro (11) and redshirt-senior A'Queen Hayes (7) remained active on the boards in the title contest, notching 18 of the teams 34 rebounds in the game.
Sutton Earns C-USA Freshman of the Week honors
Sutton had a breakout weekend for the Lady Raiders at the UNLV Lady Rebel Roundup. The freshman point guard was named the most valuable player of the event after averaging 19.5 points and inking seven 3-pointers against Dartmouth and host UNLV.

Over the Thanksgiving break, the Lady Raiders will travel to Las Vegas, Nev. to compete in their first preseason tournament of the season.
