Raiders to take on UT-Martin and Samford
Match Notes
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee women's tennis will look to get back to their winning ways with a doubleheader on Friday at the Adams Tennis Complex against UT-Martin and Samford, starting at 10 a.m.
Doubles was a point of emphasis in the week's preparation, as the Blue Raiders dropped to a 9-6 record as a team. In singles, Kim Kermet leads the team with a 6-1 mark in singles, mostly at the No. 3 spot. Zani Barnard follows with a 5-0 record, including three wins at the bottom of the lineup.
The Blue Raiders will take on UT-Martin for the 30th time in program history when they meet at the ATC Friday morning, and MT has won 28 of the previous matchups. The Skyhawks (0-3) are still looking for their first team win of the season, and they are also winless in singles and doubles wins in the spring season. Junior Asel Jumamukhambetova has manned the top spot in the UT-Martin singles and doubles lineups.
Samford's only loss of the season was at Mississippi State after winning their first three matches of the season at home against Kennesaw State, Belmont and UAH. Elle Gerlach is 2-2 at the top spot of the singles lineup, and she's paired with Roos van der Zwaan at No. 1 doubles for a 3-0 mark. Four doubles teams have combined for a 9-2 record through four matches.
Live stats will be available for both matches, and admission is free to all matches.
