Egbeniyi Punches Ticket to NCAA Championship

TAMPA, Fla. – Abike Egbeniyi punched her ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships during the second day of the Regional in the 800-meter event.

Egbeniyi qualified for the Championships after inking a fourth place finish in the quarterfinal with a season best time of 2:03.50.

Similarly, Edidiong Odiong qualified for the quarterfinal event of the women's 200-meter after her performance this afternoon. The C-USA female freshman of the year claimed a 14th place finish in the women's 200-meter dash, crossing the line with a personal best 22.89.

Joycelyn Assafuah competed in the women's 200-meter quarterfinals this afternoon and inked a 21st place finish (53.37).

Geoffry Cheruiyot also competed in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase quarterfinal while claiming a 46th place finish with a time of 9:37.82.

Tomorrow, Jacob Patten and Isaac Odugbesan will take the field for their events while Odiong will compete in the women's 200-meter quarterfinal. Meanwhile, the men and women's relay teams will also compete in their events.
