MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Head Coach Jimmy Borendame announced the fall slate for the 2018-19 Middle Tennessee Men's Tennis team, which features seven fall tournaments.
"This year's fall schedule is slightly different than previous years," said Borendame. "Each player will compete in three events, but since some of them were able to compete in more match play this summer, they will be rewarded with some bigger events."
The Blue Raiders will open their season with the 32nd annual Wally Tidwell Pro-Am on September 7th and 8th, a yearly fundraiser for the program. Sign-ups are open now to the general public at goblueraiders.com. Registration is $150 and includes dinner and a tennis clinic hosted by MTSU Coaches and players.
The first competitive tournament of the fall season will take place with the team traveling to Philadelphia for the Penn Invitational from September 14th to the 16th. They'll return to Murfreesboro to close out September by hosting the Short/LaLance Shootout at the Adams Tennis Complex from September 28th through the 30th.
Middle Tennessee will compete in a pair of ITA events in the month of October. The first is the ITA All American, which will be held in Tulsa, Oklahoma, from September 29th to October 7th. The following weekend is the ITA Regional Championships in Knoxville, Tennessee, from October 11th through 15th.
The fall season wraps up with trips to the Louisville Fall Invitational in Kentucky (October 19th and 20th) and the CCB Collegiate Invitational in Birmingham, Ala (November 2nd through 4th).
"In the fall semester, each guy lays a foundation of hard work for improvement in their game which always determines what kind of spring season they want to have individually," added Coach Borendame. "Collectively, if all the guys put in the work this fall, we will be ready for another great spring."
The schedule for the remainder of the 2018-19 season will be announced in the coming weeks. For the most up-to-date information on MTSU men's tennis all season long, follow @MT_MensTennis on Twitter or Instagram or Liking MTSU Men's Tennis on Facebook.
