MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Blue Raider Men's Basketball has received a boost to their practice ranks as November signee Eli Lawrence has enrolled at Middle Tennessee as a full-time student for the spring semester.
"We're excited to have Eli on campus a semester early so that he can begin growing both on and off the court," Head Coach Nick McDevitt said.
Lawrence boasted an impressive 21.3 points and 9.1 rebounds per outing as a senior in 2017-18 at Tri-Cities High School to earn Class 6A First Team All-State and Georgia Athletics Coaches Association All-State honors and competed on the GACA North All-Star team.
The 6-foot-5 guard competed in the fall of 2018 for prep school Washington Academy in North Carolina.
The Atlanta native gives the Blue Raiders a full roster of 13 scholarship players for the spring semester and comes eligible to compete as scheduled at the beginning of the 2019-20 campaign.
"Any time you get to bring a guy on campus early and give him a head start on his development as a student-athlete, it benefits both the individual and the program," McDevitt added. "We look forward to seeing him grow this semester and joining us on game nights next fall."
