COLLEGE GROVE, Tenn. – Head Men's Golf Coach Mark McEntire has his squad set to host the sixth annual Intercollegiate at The Grove this week with 14 teams competing at the prestigious Grove.
The Par 72, 7,368-yard course will see 88 players make the rounds for three days with 18 holes on the schedule each day.
"I am excited for the chance to play at home this week," McEntire stated. "The Grove is a special place and is in excellent shape."
Joining Middle Tennessee in the field Sunday thru Tuesday are Charleston Southern, Eastern Kentucky, Francis Marion, Lamar, Lipscomb, LA Tech, Mercer, South Alabama, South Dakota State, Tennessee, Tennessee Tech, Troy and WKU.
Lone senior Tanner Owens will lead the Blue Raider lineup in his final appearance in Middle Tennessee's home event at The Grove.
Junior Ilari Saulo, Conference USA's reigning Male Golfer of the Week, also remains in the lineup having enjoyed a highly successful start to the season with two Top 10 finishes in as many tournaments.
Freshman trio Mattias Varjun, Michael Barnard and Gavin Clements once again round out McEntire's 5-man lineup while sophomores Palmer Sadlowski and Jake Marvelli as well as freshman Stephen Haremski will compete as individuals.
"We have a great field and I am excited that I will have the chance to play the entire team," McEntire added. "I really feel that we are improving every round and look forward to seeing that continue. I look for our team to bounce back from Cincinnati. We need Ilari and Tanner to play well and give us a chance to have a good finish."
It all starts Sunday morning with the field taking part in a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start in an effort to beat potential rainstorms in the area.
The Blue Raiders will tee off alongside Tennessee, Lipscomb and South Alabama on holes six thru nine while MT's individual competitors will their rounds on holes 13 thru 15.
