Blue Raiders draw Rice in opening round

MURFREESBORO — The Middle Tennessee soccer team will open the Conference USA tournament with familiar foe 3-seeded Rice in Denton, Texas at the UNT Track and Soccer Complex, which goes through Nov. 6th through 10th.
The Blue Raiders (8-9-1, 5-4-1) who earned a No. 6 seed in the tournament after back-to-back wins over Southern Miss and UAB 3-2 on Friday will take on the No. 3 seed Rice (9-5-3, 6-1-3) at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last time the Raiders and Owls teed off it went a full 110 with a 2-2 tie in Murfreesboro earlier this season.
The Blue Raiders game as well as all seven tournament games will be broadcasted live on ESPN+. Live stats will be available on MeanGreenStats.com.
Middle Tennessee have made it to the tournament five times since joining the league in 2013, going as far as the semifinals twice in 2014 and 2015 but getting knocked out by UNT in both attempts.
