Lady Raiders Prepped For a Meeting With Belmont

Murfreesboro, Tenn. - After defeating Lipscomb 70-49 nearly 10 days ago the Middle Tennessee women's basketball team will face another music city foe when they travel to Belmont tomorrow at 3:00 PM.

After Belmont the Lady Raiders will return home for a mid-week match up against VCU on Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 6:30 PM.

- Senior Charity Savage has collected 102 rebounds through nine games this season ranking her third in the country for total rebounds. Savage still has a ways to go before knocking on the door of the MT single season rebound record of 448, held by Robin Hendrix during the 1980-81 season.
 - Sophomore sharpshooter Taylor Sutton is among the nation's best in 3-point shooting this season. Sutton is 11th nationally for total 3-pointers with 29. She is 17th nationally for 3-pointers per game with 3.2 and her .408 shooting percentage beyond the arc is 97th in the nation.
 - MT (6-3) is currently sixth in the C-USA standings, but only sits a game and a half back from ODU (7-1) at the top of the standings.
 
- The Bruins are the four-time defending OVC championsand the preseason favorite to repeat in 2019-20.
 - Belmont defeated neighboring Lipscomb 69-68 in their last match up.
 - Maura Muensterman hit a last second three pointer to propel the Bruins over the Bison in the battle of the boulevard.
 - The Bruins were led by Ellie Harmeyer with 21 points and 15 rebounds in the win over Lipscomb. The red-shirt senior leads the Bruins in points per game with 16.5, rebounds with 10.3, and free throw percentage, knocking down 79.6 percent of her attempts.
 
- This will be the 18th meeting between the Lady Raiders and the Bruins, dating back to 1979.
 - MT leads the series 16-1 with their only loss to the Bruins coning early last season. The Lady Raiders fell in the defensive bout 38-45.
 - This is only the second meeting between the two teams since 2000.
 
- Sophomore Taylor Sutton had a perfect game against Lipscomb, shooting a perfect 7-for-7 from the field and 2-for-2 from the charity stripe. Sutton finished the game with 20 points and five rebounds.
 - Memphis native Charity Savage recorded her third double-double scoring 12 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Savage also contributed four assists and three blocks in the win over the Bison.
 - The Lady Raider defense held the Bison to just 19-for-56 (33.9%) shooting from the field.
 
After Belmont the Lady Raiders will return home for a mid-week match up against VCU on Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 6:30 PM.
