MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee women's basketball team looks to return to its winning ways when it hosts WKU in the Murphy Center on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
Last time out, the Lady Raiders (18-6) fell to 9-2 in Conference USA action on Saturday when ODU snapped the teams three game winning streak. Similarly, WKU (14-11, 8-3) enters the contest after notching back-to-back conference losses to North Texas and C-USA leader, Rice.
Valentine's Day at the Murphy Center
Share the love at the Murphy Center on Thursday evening, as the Lady Raiders welcome Middle Tennessee fans to spend Valentine's Day with the team this year! The first 2,000 fans to the contest will receive a special Valentine's Day present from the Blue Raiders, and five lucky couples will receive a date night package!
Scouting the Lady Toppers (14-11, 8-3)
WKU enters Thursday's contest with a 14-11 record and an 8-3 slate in conference play. The team has created a +8.1-scoring margin in conference play, with a 46.3 field goal percentage.
The team's offense is led by Dee Givens, notching 452 points on the season to average 18.1 points per game. Givens has knocked down 145-of-309 (46.9%) from the field, while averaging 31.4 minutes per game.
Middle Tennessee leads the all-time series over WKU, 33-29. However, the Lady Toppers have clinched the last five meetings over the Lady Raiders. Similarly, head coach Rick Insell is 18-9 against WKU.
Middle Tennessee Nets 900 All-Time Win Milestone
After last Thursdays win over Charlotte, Middle Tennessee became one of 32 Division I women's basketball programs to reach 900 or more wins. Likewise, the Lady Raiders are 1-of-4 schools in Tennessee and 1-of-4 schools in Conference USA to eclipse 900 victories.
