MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee (6-6, 1-0) won their sixth-straight doubles point to secure the 5-2 victory over St. John's Friday night at the Adams Tennis Complex.

Tom Moonen and Chris Edge continued their winning ways in doubles with their fourth-straight victory on court one, 6-3. After Gonzalo Morell and Pavel Motl took an early 4-2 lead on court three, St John's battled back to force a tiebreaker. The Blue Raider pair would pull it out winning 7-6 (7-3) to clinch the doubles point.

Heading into singles up 1-0, the Blue Raiders did not let up on the gas pedal. Motl was first off the courts as he won in dominate fashion taking the match in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1. After freshman Stijn Slump took the first set with ease, Luka Sucevic responded by forcing a tiebreaker in the second set. Slump soon clinched the victory at 7-5.

Leading 3-0, Morell earned the Blue Raider win in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4 on court one. Edge on court four battled in a tight match after taking the first set over Aditya Vashistha. St John's responded forcing a third set, but the Blue Raiders would take the victory in tiebreaker 6-3, 4-6, 7-5.
