The Blue Raiders scored a run in the first and second innings to take an early 2-0 lead, but it was all Roadrunners after that. UTSA would come back in the third inning to score three runs and obtain their first and last lead of the day. They would tack on runs in the fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth innings to pull out ahead.
Middle Tennessee would grab a run in each of the eighth and ninth inning as Darrell Freeman Jr. and Blake Benefield each connected for solo home runs.
As a team, the Blue Raiders hit the ball very well, connecting for 13 hits. Sophomore Brycen Thomas led the team with three base knocks including a double. Nick Carnevale, Darien Prewett, and Myles Christian each had two hits in the game.
Peyton Wigginton got the nod for the Blue Raiders on the mound, going six innings. Andy Wright, Conner Bell, Carter Bair, and Grant Williams combined for the final two innings of relief work.
